Message from the Principal
Through a model of Christ-centred education and constant encouragement, we seek to inspire children to develop and use their God given talents to be the best they can be, both for themselves and others, as this gives honour to God. We do this by employing talented and capable Christian teachers who are not only highly qualified and well-regarded educators, but also have the ability to build quality relationships with students.
Through both the academic and co-curricular programs, children are encouraged to pursue excellence in all they do. By participating in a rigorous, challenging and engaging curriculum, as well as a wide range of co-curricular programs, a student at Maranatha can access opportunity – the opportunity to learn, the opportunity to develop, the opportunity to serve, the opportunity to grow and the opportunity to excel. These help children develop their personal faith and so build the necessary skills to be successful in life, no matter what pathway God may lead them on.
As a leader, with over 50 years experience in Christian education, Maranatha assists students to become ‘culture shapers’ rather than merely culture-responders. We do this by combining sound explicit teaching practice with teaching from a Biblical perspective to help students learn to think Christianly about the world in which they live. In a secular and diverse world, it is essential that Christians are able to defend the gospel intellectually (1 Peter 3:15), and have the wisdom and ability to discern right from wrong. In this way, Maranatha students go on to become leaders within and for their community by being good decision-makers, both for themselves and others.
As importantly, we believe that as a school community we need to actively display God’s love for the world, as exemplified by Jesus. We do this not only in the way we treat each other with courtesy and respect, or display personal integrity, but also practically through community service.
Completing a quality education at Maranatha means that students will have the skills to achieve success in their professional and personal lives, and so make a positive contribution to society, no matter where in the world God may lead them. What better goal for your child than a life of Christian service that makes a real difference?
I look forward to welcoming you to Maranatha Christian School and working with you in the education and spiritual development of your child to help them give “my utmost for His glory”
