Community / OUTREACH
Outreach
As Christians we are called to be a light in our world. “…let your light shine before others. So that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
As part of Maranatha’s outreach and community service program, Maranatha students and staff work with non-profit organisations to invest in the community and educational development on a local, national, and international level. Through our outreach programs, we endeavour to teach students to be a light in the community. Students are provided with opportunities to participate in various outreach opportunities.
Global Service Opportunity
One of the international partnerships we have established is with HopeBuilders International, who are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in Uganda. Our Senior School students can participate in a Ugandan Encounter experience with HopeBuilders International. This program is designed for those with a passion for global humanitarian opportunities and a desire to experience other cultures. Students learn about the challenges of global poverty and visit initiatives that partner with vulnerable people, empowering them to rise above poverty.
HopeBuilders International
Uganda
HopeBuilders International was founded by a group of concerned Christian Australians who were captured by the plight of orphaned children in many central African countries. They aim to build hope and provide a future for at-risk and vulnerable orphans so that they can grow up to be a generation that will change the culture of poverty and greed that they now live in.
Maranatha is committed to working alongside HopeBuilders International to support and fundraise for some of the needs in Uganda.

Local Service Opportunities
Maranatha also offers regular local service opportunities. Through several community organisations, students learn about needs in our municipality and actively support local initiatives that address pressing community needs. These varied experiences allow students to explore expressions of kindness, gratitude, and compassion in both global and local contexts, fostering a well-rounded commitment to service.
