COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS
TERM 2 SERVICE PROJECT
Thailand Missions Trip
Each year our Year 10 students head off to Thailand on a two week trip as part of the Schools Careers / Community Service program. Students work with Orphanage’s and other NFP organisations; by lending a hand with painting, planting, construction and other areas. Lives are forever changed when students return and are much more appreciative of the blessed lives we get to live in Australia.

TERM 3 SERVICE PROJECT
Run for Relief
What a great program! Students either walked or ran around the Lysterfield lake to raise funds in support of one of their projects in Thailand. The response and level of enthusiasm on the Run for Relief day was particularly exciting.
A total just on $3000 was raised, a fantastic team effort that will go towards serving the community!

TERM 4 SERVICE PROJECT
Christmas Blessing
This term students from all campuses have been making gifts and hampers to bless people in our local community.
Joel and Chelsea delivering parcels to Judy Martin from the Andrews Centre.

Bronwyn and Annaliese with a clothing hamper that will go to a school family.
Below is a short clip of the song 'The Christmas Blessing' which you may want to use with your group to introduce the project.
A few ideas the group had were:
- Christmas Hampers – aged care homes, Transit, Andrew’s Centre, school families, families from other schools,
- New baby hampers – local hospitals
- Perform at aged care homes.
Other Service Programs
Term 2 Project
40 Hour Famine
Students give up food, TV or other luxuries to fundraise and contribute to World Visions 40 Famine program. As a School, Maranatha is the programs biggest supporter and has been for many years.

Term 4 Project
Local Community Clean Up
Year 9 students were involved in various community service projects in the local community. Students worked well together tidying yards, building vegetable gardens, fixing fences and mowing lawns. Much was achieved in the hour and a half and the recipients were blessed by the completed projects.
