Year 6 Camp Theme
Servant Leadership
This year’s Maranatha Christian School Year 6 camp is centred on servant leadership, guiding our focus on student leadership, Christian values, community and personal growth. On the first evening, students gathered for a devotion exploring what leadership looks like in action through humility, service and Christ-like character.
Throughout camp, students are encourage to seek these opportunities and celebrating acts of servant leadership to one another. Students were asked to write it on a piece of paper making a paper chain, creating a visual reminder of leadership in action. This camp theme will continue to shape our activities, team challenges and daily reflections, encouraging students to lead by serving others in every experience.

Camp Day One
Our Year 6 students were off to an early start this morning, heading to Canberra for the very first time. The atmosphere was full of excitement as they began this journey together. Everyone is travelling well, with several stops along the way, and they are expected to arrive in the early evening.
Camp Day Two
Students (and Teachers) are enjoying a hearty breakfast as they prepare for a day packed with activities, including a visit to Mount Ainslie Lookout and the Australian War Memorial, followed by lunch at Parliament House to name just a few.
Camp Day Three
Students began Day 3 of camp bright and early this morning, currently on their way for a guided tour of Government House. This will be followed by a driving tour through Canberra’s Embassy and Lodge District. The will morning will end with a tour at the National Portrait Gallery.
After lunch, students will enjoy some free time exploring the popular Pod Playground and Discovery Garden at the National Arboretum.
We are encouraging all students to refuel and prepare with enthusiasm for this afternoon’s visit to Canberra’s Deep Space Communication Complex. Here, they will take part in another guided tour, gaining insight into space communication technology and Australia’s role in global scientific discovery. Very exciting.
Camp Day Four
Students had an action packed day yesterday and had lots of fun. Lights were out early and everyone rested well.
Students are currently on a self-guided visit of Questacon before heading off to the National Capital Exhibition: The Griffin Mission program. Later today students will visit a number of places including the National Gallery of Australia and Old Parliment House.
Servant Leadership
Year 6 Camp Final Night Devotion
Our Year 6 Canberra camp concluded with a meaningful evening centred on camp theme of Servant Leadership. Guided by a devotion from Mr Ting, students reflected on what it means to lead with humility, serve others selflessly, and model Christ-like character.
Throughout camp, students were encouraged to notice and celebrate acts of servant leadership, recording them as part of a growing paper chain, a visual reminder of leadership in action within our community.
These shared moments of reflection and prayer have helped shape a deeper understanding of leadership, reinforcing the call for each student to lead by serving others in every experience.
