Our Maranatha Year 7 students recently embarked on an engaging Chinese language and culture excursion to the Chinese Museum in Melbourne.
Throughout the day, they explored aspects of Chinese and Chinese-Australian history, including the impact of the Gold Rush, the symbolism of dragons in Chinese culture, and the achievements of the Han Dynasty.
A highlight of the excursion was a hands-on Kung Fu workshop, where students learned about the important values of discipline, respect and self-control through traditional movement and cultural practices.
The excursion provided a rich learning experience, deepening students’ understanding of Chinese culture and history. We are proud of the way our students represented the school, demonstrating curiosity, enthusiasm throughout the day.
