Love Easter

Term 1 Local Service initiative – Sharing hope and the meaning of Easter at Maranatha

Our Love Easter Local Service project invited the Maranatha Christian School community at Officer to donate Easter Egg Gift Boxes and write messages of encouragement. These Easter gifts will be shared with vulnerable members of the community during the Easter season, a time when many experience feel forgotten.

As a Christian school in Victoria, Easter holds deep significance for us. It is a time when we remember and celebrate the incredible sacrifice Jesus made, the price He willingly paid so that we could be reconciled with God. This truth compels us to look beyond ourselves and extend love and kindness to others, particularly those who are often overlooked within our communities.

Love Easter provided a meaningful opportunity for students at Maranatha Christian School to connect faith with action. Through classroom conversations, students were encouraged to consider what it means to show compassion, to put others before their own needs and to respond practically to Jesus’ call to love our neighbours. Writing messages for people they may never meet helped students understand the impact of small acts of kindness and the importance of seeing others through God’s eyes.

Service projects like Love Easter reflect the heart of Maranatha Christian School, shaping students not only academically, but spiritually and socially, as they grow in empathy and Christ‑like character while serving the wider community.
