Class of 1995, 2005 and 2015 Reunions

MCS Reunion, past student, alumni

A Memorable Evening of Catch ups and Fun

On Friday 28th February, we celebrated our 10, 20, and 30 year reunions in the Senior School Centre at our Endeavour Hills Campus and what a fantastic night it was. Alumni from years 1995, 2005 and 2015 came together to relive their memories and reconnect with old friends, classmates and even some of the teachers who were part of their school journey.

The evening started with a delicious dinner, providing the perfect opportunity to catch up with one another. Laughter filled the air as old stories were shared and new ones were made. It was good to see familiar faces, some of whom had not seen each other in decades, picking up right where they left off.

After dinner, our past students were treated to an exclusive tour across the campus, revisiting some of the buildings where countless memories were made. From classrooms to hallways, each corner brought back a flood of nostalgia and it was clear that Maranatha Christian School had left a lasting impact on everyone who passed through its doors.

The fun did not stop there. As the night went on, some attendees decided to relive their school days. In a nostalgic twist, groups of friends found themselves gathered around playing old school ball games like 4 square. It was a fun-filled reminder that no matter how many years pass, some memories (and games) never get old.

All in all, the reunion was filled with laughter, memories and the rekindling of friendships that have stood the test of time. We are already looking forward to celebrating the Classes of 1996, 2006 and 2016 early next year.

Below are some of the biggest memories our alumni shared about Maranatha:

Cindy Tan, Class of 1995

Learning what it really meant to “Do your utmost for His Glory.”

Kim Bruinsma, Class of 1995

VCE. I loved year 11 and 12.  I also remember the one and only year I was selected to attend Maryborough – the equivalent of a CSEN sporting event. Maryborough was a two-day sporting competition, athletics on day one and swimming on day two. I had one event, discus. I almost missed the event because I was just so excited to be there and could not care less about the actual reason I was there.

Matt North, Class of 2005

Seeing Janet De Jong (my mum) at the front office.

Nathan Brown, Class of 2005

Friendships

Staphanie Araujo, Class of 2005

There are too many highlights to list!

Grant Devin, Class of 2005

I still have mates 20 years later who are my closest friends.

Lauren Withers, Class of 2005.

Attending the school as a 16-year-old deepened my Christian faith at a time when I was discovering who I was and what I stood for. It also connected me with people who I have remained friends with for 20 years.

Paul Buck, Class of 2015

A highlight for me was how above and beyond I remember the teachers being to support us.

Joanna Lecuta, Class of 2015

One of the highlights of my time at Maranatha was seeing a live performance of Macbeth during an English excursion. It brought learning to life and played a part in sparking my continued interest in theatre and the arts.
